West Ham United are reportedly keen on Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater.

According to The Mirror, West Ham United are back in for Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater after a deal for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes had to be shelved.
The Hammers have brought in seven summer signings already, with Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson all arriving.
Despite that signing spree, West Ham are still in the market for more signings, and another midfielder is wanted given that both Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang are both expected to leave before the transfer deadline.
A host of midfielders have been linked with the club, and The Mirror now report that West Ham want to sign Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater to boost Pellegrini’s options in the middle of the park.
Drinkwater, 28, joined Chelsea from Leicester City last summer, one year on from winning the Premier League title with the Foxes, but he struggled to make an impact with the Blues.
Drinkwater started just five Premier League games last season in a dismal campaign hampered by injuries, and with Jorginho arriving at Stamford Bridge, the three-cap England international will be allowed to move on.

West Ham are thought to be keen on Drinkwater, and could look for him to make a move across London in order to join Pellegrini’s side for the start of the new Premier League season.
It’s noted that West Ham had been looking to bring in Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, but an injury to the Portuguese midfielder has scuppered that move, making Drinkwater a priority target for West Ham as they look to snap up a new midfielder imminently.
