The Burnley goalkeeper could fill West Ham United’s Hart void next season.
West Ham United want Burnley’s Tom Heaton as Joe Hart’s replacement, according to the Sun.
The report claims Hart will not return to West Ham after a mixed spell on loan from Manchester City, adding that the Hammers instead intend to push Burnley to part with Heaton – who is said to be valued at around £10 million.
The 32-year-old – an England colleague of Hart – began the season as Clarets first choice, but lost his place to Nick Pope after he suffered a dislocated shoulder last August.
According to the Sun, Burnley boss Sean Dyche will struggle to keep the pair happy next season – even though Heaton would have been happy to stay for the final two years of his contract.
And the report adds that West Ham believe they can tempt Heaton with the offer of being their new number one, with Adrian San Miguel also failing to convince.
