According to Tutto Bologna Web, West Ham are keen to sign Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski as they look to freshen things up in between the sticks.
Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves and Aston Villa are also mentioned by Tutto Bologna Web, although it’s West Ham who have the most realistic need for a new shot-stopper.
In what respect? Well, while Lukasz Fabianski is a fine glovesman, he is 35 years of age now, and David Moyes will need to start thinking about his replacement.
Behind the ex-Arsenal man, the Irons have 33-year-old Darren Randolph and 35-year-old David Martin, so the department certainly needs an injection of youth.
That is perhaps why West Ham are eyeing the 29-year-old Skorupski.
The former Roma shot-stopper – who Bologna paid €9 million (£7.8 million) for – has enjoyed a decent season with 17 Serie A outings under his belt.
In those appearances, he’s conceded 23 goals and has kept four clean sheets.
Interestingly, Skorupski wouldn’t feel completely lonely at the London Stadium if West Ham signed him.
His international teammate Fabianski is here, so at least he would have someone to help him settle in who speaks the same native tongue.
Fabianski is also a favourite of Moyes, having started 24 Premier League games this season, so the Pole could potentially share some tips on how to get on the Scot’s good side.
It could be a similar situation to when Vladimir Coufal joined his Czech Republic teammate Tomas Soucek in east London.
If Skorupski was able to perform even half as well as the Czech duo have, he would be a great signing for Moyes.
