According to Sport, West Ham are interested in signing Isco when his contract with Real Madrid expires in June.

However, the £211,000-a-week man has now made a decision on his next club, and it’s bad news for David Moyes.

What’s the story?

Well, Sport believe Isco has agreed to join Sevilla when his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires.

The 29-year-old was the subject of interest from West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, although he has decided to team up with Julen Lopetegui in Seville.

Juventus were also said to be keen on signing Isco.

Sport add that Sevilla have tried to sign the Spain international for three years.

It was Lopetegui’s presence in Seville which convinced Isco to join, as the 55-year-old often trusted the midfield maestro to start for Spain when in charge of the national team.

Encouraging to see West Ham express Isco interest

While it’s a shame that Isco has decided to move elsewhere, it’s very encouraging to see West Ham barking up these kind of trees.

Isco was one of the best players in Europe at one point, and played a key role as Real Madrid won four Champions League titles in five years.

So, for West Ham fans to hear that their beloved Irons are exploring moves like this, and are alert to the contractual situation of a world class player, is positive news.

It speaks volumes about West Ham’s rise under Moyes that they were genuine contenders to sign a player like Isco, despite competition from Juventus, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Without a doubt, things are very different at the London Stadium nowadays.
