West Ham United are reportedly backing away from Valentin Rongier.

According to France Football, West Ham United have decided to abandon a move for Nantes ace Valentin Rongier due to the money involved.
The Hammers have spent big on playmaker Pablo Fornals and striker Sebastien Haller, leaving Manuel Pellegrini with little wiggle room ahead of the transfer deadline.
Another midfielder may be wanted despite Jack Wilshere’s return, with Pedro Obiang sold to Sassuolo last month – but their top target appears to be slipping through their net.
It’s claimed that West Ham did want Rongier, but they have now decided to walk away from a possible deal because they view him as being too expensive.
Nantes’ asking price for their star midfielder is unclear, but West Ham ‘quickly’ halted their interest after learning the fee needed to sign him.
Rongier’s chances of a move to England now appear to be dwindling, as Aston Villa have signed a host of midfielder since Le Quotidien Du Foot reported their interest in Rongier earlier this summer.

Neither side will seemingly sign Rongier this summer, and with just three days to go until the transfer deadline, a move to the Premier League seemingly won’t materialise.
The 24-year-old hit four goals and five assists for Nantes last season, emerging as a technically-gifted yet also combative box-to-box midfielder, and whilst he may remain on the Aston Villa and West Ham radar, he won’t be moving to either this week.
