West Ham United have walked away from a deal to sign Boulaye Dia this summer as they feel he is too expensive, according to France Football.
Dia has been on West Ham’s wishlist all month and a bid was submitted for the forward in the past week.
However, Reims rejected the offer as it fell short of their asking price, which stands around £12 million, and West Ham now feel that the deal is too costly for them.
Dia has scored prolifically for Reims in Ligue 1 this season, but his record has not always been so strong.
And West Ham feel that they are overpricing a player without a proven track record of success.
The Hammers may now have to look elsewhere, as they continue to search for a replacement for Sebastien Haller.
West Ham have made no secret of their desire to bring in a forward this month, but David Moyes’s men seem to be struggling to find the right player at this moment in time.
