Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United reportedly want to sign Lyon defender Marcelo in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that West Ham made a second bid of €25 million (£22.21m) after seeing an initial offer of €17m (£15.11m) for the 31-year-old central defender turned down by Lyon.
The French club have rejected the Hammers’ second offer, according to the report, although the 31-year-old is claimed to be willing to move to the London Stadium.
According to Goal.com, West Ham’s proposal of a five-year contract and a salary of €3m (£2.67m) is tempting to Marcelo.

Third bid for Marcelo?
West Ham do need a central defender, and it seems that the Premier League club are determined to sign Marcelo.
However, with Lyon reportedly keen on holding onto the former Brazil Under-20 international central defender, perhaps even a third bid from West Ham may not change the Ligue 1 club’s stance over the former Besiktas star.
