It looks like Crystal Palace target Diafra Sakho is on the brink of leaving West Ham United – but not to join the Eagles.

According to France Football, West Ham United hitman Diafra Sakho is undergoing a medical at French side Rennes today.
Crystal Palace had shown an interest in the out-of-favour Senegal striker, with the print edition of The Sun on Sunday reporting today (page 59, January 28, 2018) that the Eagles had matched Rennes’ £8 million bid.
West Ham’s London rivals could do with more firepower up front but it would appear as if Roy Hodgson is on the brink of being beaten to Sakho’s signature.

The report adds that the deal will initially be a loan with an option to buy him outright this summer.

If true it doesn’t do much for the Hammers, who could have done with that £8 million to finance a replacement, but getting Sakho off the wage bill should help slightly too.
The former Metz star has bagged 18 Premier League goals in 62 games since joining in 2014.
