West Ham United defender Declan Rice badgered James Collins for advice last season, according to The Times.

It has been reported that Rice, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, asked his then West Ham teammate Collins for advice what he did wrong and how to improve after training sessions.

Collins left West Ham at the end of last season, and the 35-year-old former Wales international centre-back has been training with Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, as reported by BBC Sport.

Rice is a very talented and promising young defender, and the report in The Times outlines just how hard he works and how he much he wants to improve.

The teenager is still developing and learning as a footballer and there will be times when he will make mistakes, but it is clear that Rice wants to improve and make himself better.
