According to the Daily Star, West Ham United are interested in raiding Wigan Athletic for centre back Cedric Kipre this summer.

Wigan are entering administration as per the club’s announcement just days ago, meaning some players may be sold off for cheap this summer.

The vultures are circling the DW Stadium, and it seems that centre back Kipre is a man in demand, with West Ham interested.

Watford are also keen on the defender, who may be one of the most in-demand Wigan players if these rumours are to be believed.

Kipre, 23, joined Wigan from Motherwell back in the summer of 2018, and has now made more than 70 appearances for the Latics.

Born in France but eligible for the Ivory Coast, Kipre stands at a towering 6ft 3in tall, and has previously been with Leicester City in their Premier League days.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain talent may be ready for a return to the top flight, and David Moyes has shown a willingness to dip into the Championship for signings.

He landed Jordan Hugill from Preston North End in January 2018, whilst he oversaw a deal for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen in January, so a move for Kipre would add up – if the Hammers can beat Watford to his signature.
