West Ham United are interested in signing Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport.

It has been reported that West Ham see Hlozek as an option, along with Reims forward Boulaye Dia and Bournemouth’s Josh King.

Adam Hlozek is rated very highly

Hlozek is only 18 years of age, but he is a rising star in European football and has a bright future ahead.

In June 2020,  Sky Germany and Buli News reported that RB Leipzig had opened talks with Sparta in an attempt to beat Arsenal to Hlozek, as covered by HITC Sport here.

Nothing eventually came out of those reported talks, with the 18-year-old Czech Republic still at Sparta.

According to WhoScored, the teenage forward has scored four goals in six Gambrinus League matches and has proved one assists in 45 Europa League minutes for Sparta so far this season.

In June 2020, the youngster’s agent Pavel Paska told Goal.com that Arsenal were among the clubs that the teenager turned down three years ago when he was 15.

Paska told Goal.com: “Before he signed his first contract with Sparta at the age of 15, scouts from all over Europe put enormous pressure on him, saying: ‘Come to us; we will make you a star!’ It is not easy to reject Arsenal or Bayern.”

Hlozek is only just starting his career, and while he is unlikely to make an immediate impact at West Ham, he could be a smart signing for the Hammers in the long run.
