West Ham United are said to be looking to sign Chris Smalling from Manchester United.

According to a report in the printed version of the Daily Star (page 47, 14/06/2017), West Ham United are set to make a £10 million opening bid for Chris Smalling.
The Manchester United defender is thought to be available this summer, and Slaven Bilic is keen to bring him to the London Stadium.
Smalling looks set to drop further down the pecking order at United, following the impending arrival of Victor Lindelof, meaning his first-team chances are set to be limited next season at Old Trafford.

And West Ham are confident that they can convince Smalling to make a move back to London.
The Hammers are prepared to open to bidding at £10 million, although that offer is short of United’s £15 million asking price.

Slaven Bilic is looking to tighten up West Ham’s defence, after a disappointing campaign last time around.
If Smalling does join West Ham he will be in competition with the likes of Winston Reid, Angelo Ogbonna, Jose Fonte and James Collins for a starting place.
