The former Queens Park Rangers defender could be offered a lifeline by West Ham United.

West Ham United are ready to hand Steven Caulker a trial after his release by Queens Park Rangers, according to the Sun newspaper.
Caulker was allowed to leave Loftus Road last week, having featured just four times all season.
But he could be offered a lifeline on the other side of London, as West Ham manager David Moyes looks at options at centre-back.

Caulker has suffered well-documented personal problems since his return to QPR from a loan spell at Liverpool 18 months ago.
Before then though, the Tottenham Hotspur product was a Premier League regular for Swansea City, Cardiff City and QPR, and scored on his only England appearance six years ago.

Though West Ham are not currently short in Caulker’s position, they could lose James Collins at the end of his contract this summer, while the future of Reece Oxford is uncertain despite being recalled early from his Borussia Monchengladbach loan spell.
