According to the Daily Star, West Ham United are prepared to pay £10 million for Birmingham City striker Che Adams.

West Ham are looking for more attacking additions, and their scouts have reported positively on Adams, who has been in fine form in the Championship.

The 22-year-old has hit 14 goals in 28 games for Birmingham this season, with his pace proving a problem for defences across the division.

West Ham now feel that he is ready to make the step up to the Premier League, and are ready to make a late bid.

West Ham are prepared to allow their chase of Adams to go right down to deadline day, in the hope of pressuring Birmingham into a deal.

Garry Monk’s side are unlikely to want to lose their star player, but may not have the financial muscle to keep hold of him, amid West Ham’s interest.

If Adams was to arrive at West Ham it seems likely he would be used in a rotational role by Manuel Pellegrini at first.
