The Arsenal man would cost West Ham United £20 million, according to a report, and Slaven Bilic can’t pursue.
The Daily Star has reported that Arsenal have told West Ham United to cough up £20 million for midfielder Jack Wilshere.
According to The Mail, Wilshere is among the players who Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is willing to offload this summer.
The 25-year-old, who spent last season at Bournemouth on loan, has made only 17 Premier League appearances for the Gunners since 2014, and The Sun claimed that the West Ham target would fetch only £9 million this summer.
However, The Star claimed on Wednesday evening that the England international would in fact cost £20 million, and Wenger demands that a buy-back clause is written into a prospective contract with West Ham.
With the Hammers closing in on a move for £13 million-rated Javier Hernandez, according to ESPN, it remains to be seen if Slaven Bilic would be willing to stump up such a big fee for Wilshere, who hardly has the best injury record.
His Arsenal career has been dogged by ankle injuries since breaking into the senior side as a 17-year-old in 2010, and he missed the final month of Bournemouth’s season with a hairline fracture of his fibula.
