West Ham United are interested in signing Lucas Perez from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.

It has been reported that the Hammers have already made an inquiry about the 28-year-old forward.

“Slaven Bilic, the manager, admires Pérez’s qualities and thinks that he may be available as Arsenal are planning to reshape their own strike force, particularly with Alexis Sánchez set to leave,” adds the report in The Times.

“But he will not come cheap as Arsenal rejected an offer of £26 million from a Chinese Super League club in January.”

Perez joined Arsenal from Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Goal.com to be worth £17.5 million.

The Spaniard arrived at the Emirates Stadium with a strong reputation, but he has struggled for playing time at the Gunners.

The 28-year-old forward has been able to make only 11 appearances in the Premier League for the North London outfit so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Perez scored three goals and created three chances in three Champions League matches for Arsenal this season.

The 28-year-old is a very good forward, and West Ham would be making a good signing if they move for him in the summer transfer window.

During the 2015-16 season, Perez scored 17 goals and created 72 chances in 36 La Liga appearances for Deportivo, according to Squawka.com.
