West Ham United were fully expected to have Olivier Giroud playing for them, but have missed out on the Arsenal forward.

According to a report on Bleacher Report, West Ham United have been left stunned after missing out in the race for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud to Everton.

Giroud is expected to join Everton in the near future, in a transfer worth £20 million.

West Ham are shocked that the French forward has opted to move to Goodison Park, as they felt they had done enough to snap up the 30-year-old.

West Ham believed that they were winning the race to sign Giroud, who was Slaven Bilic’s first-choice striker, but they now fear they have missed out.

Giroud is set to move to Everton to replace the outgoing Romelu Lukaku in the near future.

West Ham are still determined to bring in a top class forward, with Bilic keen to strengthen his strike options.

Bleacher Report suggest that West Ham’s attention may now turn to signing Manchester City’s talented youngster Kelechi Iheanacho.
