Report: West Ham United leading race for £110k-a-week player

According to Transfer20, West Ham United are interested in signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that AC Milan are also interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.

The France international – who earns £110,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – spent the 2018-19 season on loan at AC Milan and the 2019-20 campaign on loan at AS Monaco.

However, according to Transfer20, West Ham are leading the race for the former Rennes star and are in pole position.

Bakayoko has been on the books of Chelsea since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £40 million.

The Frenchman scored two goals and provided two assists in 29 Premier League matches, and scored one goal and provided one assist in five Champions League games for the Blues in 2017-18, according to WhoScored.

According to WhoScored, Bakayoko scored one goal and provided two assists in 20 Ligue 1 matches for Monaco this season.
