West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini worked with Real Betis midfielder Javi Garcia at Manchester City.

Manuel Pellegrini worked with Garcia at Manchester City and actually sold the 31-year-old defensive midfielder to Zenit Saint Petersburg in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £13 million.
According to The Sun, Garcia is only interested in a permanent move, while West Ham manager Pellegrini will only get him on loan in the January transfer window.
Loan move makes sense
Garcia did relatively well during his time at City, and the Spain international defensive midfielder is a very good player.

The former Benfica star would be a good signing for City on a loan deal, especially as Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere are injured at the moment.
Given that Garcia – who won the Premier League title with the Citizens during the 2013-14 campaign – is versatile, he could also fill in at the back in the absence of the injured Winston Reid and Fabian Balbuena.
