West Ham United are facing a striker shortage.

According to the Guardian [live blog entry 15:35], West Ham United are not confident of pulling off a deal for FC Krasnodar striker Fyodor Smolov.
Despite being without Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll to injury, West Ham allowed Diafra Sakho to join Rennes this week – with a new centre forward expected to arrive at the London Stadium.

It was reported on Thursday that Smolov could be that man, with talks underway regarding a £15 million move to the David Moys’s side.
The Guardian, however, claim ‘the latest from West Ham is that they don’t think [it] is going to happen’.
West Ham, who have only signed Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario on loan so far, have until 11pm tomorrow [Wednesday] to make further additions.

Should a new striker fail to come in, Hammers boss Moyes would be left with only Javier Hernandez, Ande Ayew and youngster Toni Martinez as available options up front.
Where should West Ham turn if they are unable to sign Fyodor Smolov?
