Bournemouth’s Joshua King celebrates with the match ball
West Ham United are considering a summer move for Bournemouth forward Joshua King, The Sun reports (24/03, page 64).
King, 25, scored a hat-trick in the Cherries win against Slaven Bilic’s side earlier this month, leaving a lasting impression on the Hammers it seems.
King didn’t cost Bournemouth a penny when he moved to the south coast from Blackburn Rovers in 2015, but having scored 18 goals in 63 outings since then, The Sun reports his valuation has now gone ‘through the roof’.
West Ham are desperate to add to their front line this summer, having failed to properly do so during the past few transfer windows.
The Hammers also sold winger Dimitri Payet to Marseille in January, and King’s ability to play in a variety of attacking positions would perhaps be most welcome.
Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has been strongly linked with a return to West Ham this summer, having began his professional career at Upton Park, the Hammers’ former home.
