The Hammers would like to take Jenkinson until the end of the season, as they want to bolster their defensive line.
Jekinson has played just five times for Arsenal so far this season, and Arsene Wenger has admitted that the defender lacks confidence.
West Ham feel that a change of scenery could be good for Jenkinson, and they have already made plans to sign the former Charlton Athletic trainee ahead of the January transfer window.
Slaven Bilic has already made his interest in Jenkinson known to Arsenal, with a deal possible in the near future.
West Ham have struggled defensively this season, with Bilic’s men currently stuck in 13th place in the Premier League table.
