West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion are both making plans to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to reports.
According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion have both made enquiries for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.
Sakho is expected to leave Liverpool during the January transfer window, after falling out of favour at Anfield.
The French defender has not featured this season, and Jurgen Klopp is apparently willing to allow Sakho to leave Merseyside.
West Ham and West Brom both would like to sign the 26-year-old, but Liverpool are not willing to allow him to leave cheaply.
West Ham and West Brom both want to take Sakho on loan, but the Reds want a £500,000 fee up-front for the defender’s services.
Liverpool are also demanding that whoever signs Sakho’s pays the bulk of his £80,000-a-week wages.
At that price, West Ham and West Brom could be priced out of a move – but the pair are still monitoring the situation.
The Premier League pair could make a move if Liverpool do decide to reduce their wage demands for Sakho.
The Hammers and Albion both want to strengthen in the January transfer window, as they attempt to move up the Premier League table.
