The Italian defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

It is being reported in Italy that the representatives of Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia are in London trying to secure a move to England for their client.

Tuttosport are reporting that it was West Ham United who appeared to be in pole position to sign the player.

However, that deal will no longer be going ahead. West Ham have instead decided to sign Jose Fonte from Southampton and in that case Ranocchia is simply not needed at the London Stadium.

Now it is reported that his agents are hopeful of concluding a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have an injury concern over Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld has had injury issues this season as well. With Spurs now playing three at the back more regularly extra cover might be needed and the Inter player could be a potential option.

The same report also claims that Hull City are no longer interested in a move for the Italian defender, who is not in Marco Silva’s plans.

The Italian is also wanted by Russian side Zenit St Petersburg – who will be hoping that Spurs are not interested in taking him on board.
