West Ham United are said to have failed with their initial approach for the Swansea City goalkeeper.
West Ham United have been told to pay £7 million for Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, according to the Sun.
The newspaper reports West Ham’s opening offer was around £2.5 million short of that amount, and thus ‘flatly rebuffed’ by Swansea.
The relegated side are also said to have turned down the Hammers’ bid for defender Alfie Mawson, who will cost upwards of £18 million, according to the Sun.
However, that figure contradicts Football.London’s claim the combined offer was worth £30 million – which, when broken down, equates to £5 million for Fabianski and £25 million for Mawson.
West Ham are in need of a new goalkeeper after the expiration of Joe Hart’s loan deal, while the Sun reports Fabianski wants to leave following Swansea’s Championship return.
Both the Pole, who spent seven seasons at Arsenal, and London-born Mawson are likely to fancy returns to the capital if they are to leave the Liberty Stadium this summer.
