According to The Sun, West Ham United boss David Moyes is willing to wait for Sam Johnstone’s price tag to dip.

It’s claimed that West Ham are keen on Johnstone, but seemingly aren’t prepared to pay the £20million that West Bromwich Albion are seeking.

Moyes is allegedly prepared to wait and see if Johnstone’s price tag goes down, seemingly hoping that West Brom’s position weakens after relegation.

Add in that Johnstone only has one year left on his contract and it’s unlikely that West Ham will pay up the current £20million demand.

The London Evening Standard reported in April that Tottenham want Johnstone too, but that the Baggies only wanted £10million.

That fee seemingly won’t get it done now, and it’s unclear where Johnstone will be playing his football next season after a strong campaign.

Sam Allardyce even compared Johnstone to Jordan Pickford, backing him for a role in England’s squad at the European Championships this summer.

That’s big praise for Johnstone, but he may face a wait to earn his big move this summer as Manchester United are signing Tom Heaton and West Ham aren’t in any rush.
