West Ham United are reportedly ready to give Sunderland one of their current goalkeepers as they try and land Jordan Pickford.

According to a report from The Sun, West Ham are ready to make Sunderland an offer for Jordan Pickford that will involve the Black Cats bagging an eight-figure fee while also receiving one of the Hammers’ players.

Pickford’s form has undoubtedly provided Sunderland fans with a rare reason for optimism this season as their relegation to the Championship would have surely been confirmed considerably sooner had the stopper not been in such fine form for much of the campaign.

Unsurprisingly therefore, The Sun suggests that a number of clubs are hoping to hand the 23-year-old the chance to stay in the Premier League, with the Hammers preparing a bid that they hope will be enough to tempt the Black Cats into a sale.

The Sun reports that Slaven Bilic is hoping that an offer involving £17 million will be enough to win the race for Pickford’s signature, with the deal also involving current Irons goalkeeper Adrian heading to the Stadium of Light.

The Sun adds that with the Spaniard being rated at £8 million, the transfer would be worth £25 million to Sunderland, which may well appeal to the club as they prepare to try and build a squad capable of getting out of the second tier.

While Sunderland are under no pressure to sell Pickford when it comes to his contract situation – The Sun reports that his current deal expires in 2020 – the club could perhaps be forgiven for being tempted by the offer.

As good as Pickford is, and – perhaps more importantly – could be, Adrian is also a very good goalkeeper, while the fee involved will surely give them an excellent chance of making some decent signings this summer if it is all given to the next manager to spend.
