West Ham United are reportedly set to offer £15million for Burnley striker Andre Gray.

According to The Mirror, West Ham United are set to offer £15million for Burnley striker Andre Gray as they rekindle their January interest in him.

The Hammers signed both Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza last summer, but their struggles in front of goal mean that neither player will be with the club heading into the new season.

With Andy Carroll still enduring injury problems, it’s imperative that manager Slaven Bilic brings in at least one new striker to boost his attacking options this summer.

Now, The Mirror report that West Ham are rekindling their interest in Burnley striker Andre Gray, and are prepared to offer £15million to sign him ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Gray, 26, joined Burnley from Brentford in the summer of 2015, having smashed 16 league goals in his first Championship campaign with the Bees following a huge step up from non-league Luton Town.

With Burnley, Gray hit 23 goals to help the Clarets win promotion back to the Premier League, and he flashed some of his quality in a nine-goal Premier League campaign last term.

Burnley may have to sell Gray this summer though, given that he is out of contract in 2018 having failed to agree terms on a new contract to stay at Turf Moor, and Sean Dyche’s men may choose to sell before he walks away for nothing in a year.

West Ham are now believed to be preparing their £15million bid, having failed with a similar offer to sign the striker in January. This time, Burnley are under more pressure to sell, and West Ham could finally land their man, adding pace and energy to their desperately lacking front line.
