West Ham United could move for Manchester United’s Sam Johnstone.

According to The Guardian, West Ham United are interested in a move to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after Aston Villa missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
The Hammers are looking to tie up new signings for manager Manuel Pellegrini, having appointed the Chilean as David Moyes’ replacement last month.
Pellegrini is already being heavily linked with deals for Fulham right back Ryan Fredericks and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore, but a goalkeeper must be a priority too.

Joe Hart has returned to Manchester City at the end of his loan deal, whilst question marks remain over the future of Adrian, meaning West Ham may need two goalkeepers brought in this summer.
Now, The Guardian report that West Ham remain keen on Sam Johnstone, with a summer move possible for the Manchester United shot-stopper.
Johnstone, 25, was born in Preston but came up through the ranks with United, yet he hasn’t played a single first-team game for the Red Devils and has spent most of his time out on loan.

Most recently, Johnstone spent 18 months out on loan with Aston Villa, who were keen to keep hold of him having proven himself as one of the Championship’s top goalkeepers during his time at Villa Park.
However, with Villa missing out on promotion following a play-off final defeat to Fulham, they have no chance of signing Johnstone permanently – and West Ham could now swoop in to sing him themselves.
