According to Bild, West Ham are interested in bringing TSG Hoffenheim gem David Raum to the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well, the 24-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal campaign in the Bundesliga, and it’s no surprise to see David Moyes taking an interest.

The Germany international has scored three goals while also providing 13 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances this term.

Bild believe Raum has a release clause written into his contract with TSG Hoffenheim, which states that he can leave for €30m (£25m).

For a Premier League outfit like West Ham, who have previously spent big fees on the likes of Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller, that shouldn’t be much of an obstacle.

On the basis of Raum’s season so far, he’d be worth every penny.

Interestingly, Bild claim that he will probably move to the Premier League at some point as a result of his brilliant performances.

The report also states that the Hammers are considering moves for two more Bundesliga players in Taiwo Awoniyi and Jeremiah St Juste.

West Ham must sign David Raum

In our view, Raum should be right up there on West Ham’s list of targets, along with a new striker.

Moyes needs a new left-back to succeed Aaron Cresswell, who – at the age of 32 – could be replaced by a younger option.

Arthur Masuaku has also failed to convince Moyes he can be trusted to start on a regular basis, having made just 13 Premier League appearances this season.

For those of you who don’t know much about Raum, the Bundesliga’s official website made an interesting comparison to a better-known player.

They likened the TSG Hoffenheim No.17 to Real Madrid defender David Alaba, who made his name in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

The Austrian is one of the best around, so that specific comparison reflects very well on Raum, to say the least.

Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen this summer.
