West Ham United are reportedly willing to meet Yaya Toure’s wage demands this summer.

According to a report from the Daily Star Sunday (27/05; page 51), Yaya Toure wants a deal worth £100,000-a-week at his next club, and that is unlikely to put West Ham off a move for the 35-year-old midfielder.

Manuel Pellegrini is continuing his preparations after being appointed at the London Stadium earlier this week, and The Telegraph reports that the Ivory Coast legend is one of the players that he wishes to bring in as he looks to make seven signings during the coming months.

And it appears that a potential move to West Ham may have just moved one step closer. The Daily Star Sunday (27/05; page 51) reports that Toure is keen to earn £100,000-a-week at his new club following his release by Manchester City, and the Hammers are seemingly willing to consider paying the playmaker that money.

The former Barcelona ace may be demanding a six-figure wage, but it would still appear to be a potentially decent signing for the Irons given the quality that he has shown throughout his career, especially when you consider just how good he was when he was working under Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium.

His wages will not be cheap, but with no transfer fee involved, it appears to be a much smaller risk for the Hammers to agree to Toure’s demands – should talks begin – and it may prove to be a stunning deal.

The West Ham fans will certainly be hoping to see the club’s hierarchy spend some decent money over the summer, but getting the three-time Premier League winner in on a free could be a superb way for Pellegrini to get as much out of his budget as possible.
