According to le10sport, Mohamed Bayo is now in advanced talks with Clermont over a contract extension, amid interest from West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, the French news outlet mention that West Ham, Bordeaux, Anderlecht and Lille are all interested in the 23-year-old.
Bayo has began the season on fire for Clermont, scoring three goals in four Ligue 1 outings after firing them to promotion with 22 goals last term.
Le10sport believe negotiations over a new deal are advancing, but are not quite close to being concluded just yet.
They add that Bayo was tempted by a new project, although he is loving life with Clermont in Ligue 1.
Clermont are unbeaten in Bayo’s four league appearances so far this season.
Is West Ham’s pursuit of Mohamed Bayo now over?

In our view, it’s far from over.
Interestingly, le10sport mention that a release clause could be added into Bayo’s new contract, which will be active in the summer of 2022.
That gives West Ham – and others – a great opportunity to poach him next year.
Clermont will have no say in the matter if West Ham or another side meet his release clause.

At that point, it will then be down to Bayo. Seeing as he was tempted by a move away, we feel there’s a great chance of luring him to England.
The only danger is that he keeps scoring, and more clubs get involved in the race for his signature.
Keep an eye on Bayo’s situation, as this transfer saga doesn’t feel like it’s over for the Hammers.
