West Ham United are challenging Crystal Palace for Lille’s Ibrahim Amadou.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United have made a bid to pip Crystal Palace to the signature of Lille midfielder Ibrahim Amadou before tonight’s transfer deadline.
The Hammers have brought in one new face this month by snapping up Joao Mario on loan from Inter Milan, but manager David Moyes remains keen on more new additions.
With Mario a creative midfield player, a more defensive-minded option will be targeted, and Lille star Ibrahim Amadou now appears to be emerging as a top target.

Sky Sports claim that West Ham have now launched a £2million loan bid for Amadou, with a £14million option to purchase him at the end of the season should he impress at the London Stadium.
It’s noted that Crystal Palace failed with a bid for Amadou on Sunday, and West Ham are now swooping to hijack their London rivals with a last-gasp move for the midfielder.
Amadou, 24, has been a regular for Lille since signing from Nancy in 2015, and he is now attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.

A Cameroon-born French youth international, Amadou can play at centre back or in holding midfield, and West Ham will now wait for Lille’s response to their loan bid.
The Mirror note that West Ham will also continue pursuing Stoke City’s Joe Allen, despite being warned off him, and he could be another option if they can’t secure a deal for Amadou today.
