West Ham United are reportedly keeping a keen eye on Steven Bergwijn, who is wanted by a number of Premier League sides.

PSV clinched the domestic title this past campaign and Bergwijn played a key role in Phillip Cocu’s side, often forming one part of a devastating front three with Hirving Lozano and Luuk de Jong. Bergwijn scored eight goals and provided seven assists to bring himself onto the radar of a number of clubs, including West Ham.

The Mirror reported in November that the Hammers were looking at the forward, and despite changing manager since then with Manuel Pellegrini replacing David Moyes, the same publication is now suggesting that the Irons remain keen on the exciting youngster.
The Mirror adds that Bournemouth are also in the running, while Dutch outlet De Telegraaf suggests that Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal are all monitoring his situation.

It would undoubtedly be a superb statement if West Ham were able to win the race to sign Bergwijn. The prospect is capable of playing anywhere across the forward line, but appears to be most comfortable in a wider role, looking to stretch the defence with his blistering runs and clever movement.
And with a clear ability to back up his potential with goals and assists, winning the congested race for his signature could be a fantastic way for Pellegrini to kick off his tenure at the London Stadium. But given his talent and the queue that is forming, it seems unlikely that West Ham will find it easy to bag Bergwijn’s signature.
