West Ham United still believe that they can sign Said Benrahma despite their difficulties over finalising a deal, the Guardian say.
West Ham were thought to be closing in on a £30 million deal for Benrahma, but then the player and Brentford had an issue, which has caused the move to fall into doubt.
The deal is now said to have ‘stalled’ but West Ham are optimistic that they will get it back on track before the domestic transfer deadline passes.
Good signing?
That should be encouraging news for West Ham supporters, as Benrahma looks a hugely appealing addition to their squad.
The Algerian, who was hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Brentford teammate Pontus Jansson (Football London), is a complete box of tricks, and he should make West Ham’s attack much more of an unpredictable threat.

Benrahma could compete with Pablo Fornals for a spot down the left-wing, and his arrival could even allow the Spaniard to play in a more central role.
Benrahma is considered to be one of the best talents outside the Premier League, and his stylish performances should get pulses racing at the London Stadium, if he does arrive.
