Italian outlet CalcioMercato claim West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang is to reject Italian sides AC Milan and AS Roma as he wants to remain in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has been in and out of the West Ham side of late under Manuel Pellegrini, starting only two of the Hammers’ last eight Premier League outings.

The former Sampdoria midfielder has been linked with a return to Italy, with Serie A heavyweights Roma and Milan said to be interested in signing the Spanish midfielder.

But reports suggest that despite the illustrious lure of both Italian sides, Obiang wants to remain in the Premier League. Whether that is at West Ham, remains to be seen.

Pellegrini has preferred to use the likes of captain Mark Noble and youngster Declan Rice in the middle of the park, while Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez remain on the treatment table. Samir Nasri has been brought in on a free.

Obiang, who has one cap with Equatorial Guinea, is contracted to the Hammers until the summer of 2022. Spotrac claim he is earning £55,000 a week at the London Stadium.
