According to Goal, West Ham will make a bid for FC Basel forward Arthur Cabral on Thursday, amid strong interest from Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, Goal believe Newcastle have recently expressed an interest in the Brazilian, although it’s West Ham who look ready to move first.
The Hammers are set to make an offer on Thursday, but it remains to be seen if it will meet FC Basel’s €15m asking price (£13m).
Goal add that Cabral hopes to receive €2.5m-a-season (£2m), and West Ham are said to be aware of his demands as they prepare their opening bid.
Luiz Portela and Paulo Pitombeira – who represent the 23-year-old – are trying to seal their client a move to the Premier League.
Barcelona are also believed to be interested in the FC Basel No.10, who is enjoying a stunning campaign.
In 31 games this season, Cabral has scored 27 goals while also providing eight assists.
West Ham must watch out for Newcastle

If we were David Moyes, we’d try to get this deal wrapped up as soon as possible with Newcastle lurking.
The Magpies are said to be looking for a new frontman to help Callum Wilson, and they’ve already shown they mean business this month.
According to the Guardian, Newcastle are confident of wrapping up a £25m deal for Kieran Trippier.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano claimed the Magpies recently saw a €35m (£29m) bid rejected for Sven Botman.
Just days into January, and Eddie Howe, Amanda Staveley and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) have thrown nearly £55m at two players.
Therefore, £13m for Cabral would be pocket change for PIF, so West Ham must work quickly before the Magpies get involved.
