West Ham United saw Declan Rice excel against Ukraine on Saturday – and also watched transfer target Roman Yaremchuk in action.

England coasted to a comfortable win over Ukraine in the Euro 2020 quarter finals on Saturday night, with Harry Kane bagging a brace in a 4-0 win.

Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson were also on the scoresheet in Rome as England set up a semi-final clash with Denmark on Wednesday.

Comical Yaremchuk moment

Gent striker Roman Yaremchuk caused problems for England, earning praise from Daniel Sturridge having posed a major threat and forced Jordan Pickford into a smart save.

Yaremchuk battled and wrestled away with West Ham ace Rice, but there was also a comical moment with Harry Maguire and West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko.

Maguire was down on the deck after a battle with Yaremchuk, and the striker motioned to help Maguire up off the ground.

Yarmolenko hilariously marched over and dragged Yaremchuk away, forcing him not to help the defender in order to try and send a message to England.

It didn’t exactly work as England ran riot in the second half, but West Ham fans may now hope that Yarmolenko’s influence on the striker extends to his future.

West Ham considering Yaremchuk bid

The Express reported last month that West Ham fancy signing Yaremchuk after a 23-goal season at Gent, and their interest only appears to be growing.

Eurosport now claim that West Ham are ‘seriously considering’ an approach to Gent over a deal for Yaremchuk, with the fee estimated at £17million by The Express.

Quick, strong, hard-working and a real nuisance to Maguire and John Stones on Saturday, Yaremchuk could be the ideal player to support Michail Antonio up front.
