West Ham United reportedly sent a scout to watch Emiliano Sala during his latest appearance for Nantes.

West Ham appear to have stepped up their interest in Emiliano Sala, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Hammers were amongst the Premier League sides to send scouts to watch the striker in Nantes’ draw with Angers.
The Mail reports that Sala is wanted by a host of top flight sides in England. As well as the Hammers; Everton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Fulham are all keen on the 28-year-old.
But it appears that Manuel Pellegrini’s men are hoping to steal a march on their rivals for his signature. The Mail adds that West Ham and Leicester City both sent scouts to watch £25 million-rated Sala in action for Nantes on Saturday.
Sala did not manage to extend his remarkable goalscoring run, but he did provide an assist in the 1-1 draw. He has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this term, including seven in his last five.

While it is not an ideal situation, it is smart for West Ham to keep their eye on potential striker targets. The Daily Mirror reported this weekend that Marko Arnautovic is on Manchester United’s radar ahead of the January window, so the Irons may fear potentially losing their talisman.
Even if they manage to keep hold of Arnautovic, they arguably need to add to their options. There have been a lack of goals coming from their other forwards.
Arnautovic’s form is one of the main reasons for that. But adding another striker in January could be a very good move from West Ham – and Sala’s form this term suggests that he should be right at the top of their wishlist.
