According to Area Napoli, West Ham United have been offered a deal to sign Napoli right back Kevin Malcuit – but have turned him down.

An intermediary agent allegedly went to West Ham to propose a deal for Malcuit, but the Hammers effectively said ‘no thanks’.

Gennaro Gattuso has no plans for Malcuit this season, but the Frenchman isn’t really interested in a move to Italian rivals Parma.

Sassuolo, Roma, Benevento, Lille, Rennes, Strasbourg and other French sides have all been approached too, but Malcuit remains at Napoli.

Third-choice at right back behind Elseid Hysaj and Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Malcuit needs to move on this summer, but his destination seemingly won’t be West Ham.

Malcuit, 29, impressed at Saint-Etienne and Lille in France, showing pace and attacking intent, but he has failed to really show that in Italy.

West Ham are seeking competition for Ryan Fredericks at right back, but seemingly feel that Malcuit isn’t the quality of player they’re seeking.

Slaven Bilic wanted to sign Malcuit back in 2017 according to The Mirror, but no deal was done – and it seemingly won’t happen this time either.
