West Ham United have had to knock back offers for Andy Carroll, days after they were reportedly looking to sell the striker.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Ham have had to reject bids from China for Andy Carroll, just days after another report suggested that they were actively looking to move him on.
The Sun suggested last week that the Hammers board were ready to cash-in on the 28-year-old before China’s transfer deadline came and went this Tuesday.
However, the Mail is now suggesting that the Irons have actually turned down bids for the striker amid interest from three Chinese Super League outfits.
Whether West Ham’s view on Carroll’s future was previously exaggerated or the hierarchy had a change of heart, most fans would reflect that it would be a terrible decision to move the forward on at this stage of the season, regardless of how injury-prone he is.
When he has been fit this season, the former Liverpool man has managed a strike-rate in the Premier League of a goal in every two appearances, including four goals in his last four.
And with no other striker in Slaven Bilic’s squad really seizing their chance – though Andre Ayew marked his return to the team with a goal against Watford last time out – it would surely be a mistake to move Carroll on when there is no opportunity to get a replacement in.
But luckily, the Hammers hierarchy have come to their senses and had no plans to let Carroll move away before Tuesday’s deadline.
