According to a report from Football London, West Ham have turned down an £11 million bid for Cheikhou Kouyate from Crystal Palace with the Hammers looking to receive £15 million before they sanction a sale.

Kouyate faces an uphill task trying to get into the Hammers side, with Manuel Pellegrini strengthening his options in the middle of the park during the window and seemingly looking to push Declan Rice further forward ahead of the new campaign.

Football London suggests that the Irons are prepared to sell the 28-year-old this summer, but they are looking for £15 million – which is more than what Palace have apparently put on the table for an opening offer.

According to Football London, the Eagles have seen an £11 million offer turned down by the Hammers. It remains to be seen whether Roy Hodgson’s men come back in with a new bid for the Senegal international.

Kouyate has been an excellent servant for the Irons, making nearly 150 appearances in all competitions since his arrival in 2014. He has appeared in at least 32 games in each of his four seasons with the Hammers.

With Rice seemingly being treated as a holding midfielder from now on and Jack Wilshere arriving from Arsenal however, it seems incredibly unlikely that Kouyate will get the chance to keep that record going, and thus, selling him this summer seems to make a lot of sense.
