According to a report by The Athletic, West Ham United expect Michail Antonio to return for the Hammers’ game against Tottenham this weekend.
The striker has been out of action with a hamstring problem lately, but it looks as though he’ll be back for the Hammers’ crucial clash with Tottenham.
However, whether or not David Moyes chooses to select Antonio remains to be seen.
The Hammers’ results in his absence has shown that they’re not over-reliant on the striker and while he remains the clubs’ first-choice number nine, risking him just after coming back from injury can backfire.
Of course, it all depends on how fit he is, The Athletic seem confident that he’ll be available, but there’s a big difference between being available and being sharp.
Regardless of whether or not he starts, this is a massive boost for West Ham. Antonio is one of the most dynamic forwards in the division, so even if he comes off the bench he will be able to have an impact on the game.
Fingers crossed this is the end of Antonio’s injury woes between now and the end of the season.
