According to Tutto Mercato Web, West Ham have provided Graziano Pelle with an interesting proposal as he searches for a new club.
The Italy international is on the lookout for a new team after his contract with Chinese Super League outfit Shandong Luneng expired.
Tutto Mercato Web state that the London Stadium is a possible destination.
Elsewhere, the report adds that Inter Milan and Juventus are also said to be eyeing the free agent.
In our view, this is a deal that West Ham should avoid.
Admittedly, Pelle proved he is top-flight quality during his two-year stay at Southampton, where he netted 23 Premier League goals in 68 appearances.

However, the Italian is now 35 years of age, and doesn’t have much time remaining as a professional footballer.
While we don’t think Pelle is the answer, there’s no denying that David Moyes needs a new frontman.
The Hammers have just cashed in on Sebastien Haller, who has joined Ajax.

That leaves Moyes with Michail Antonio as his only recognised centre-forward – if need be, Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma or Andriy Yarmolenko could play there.
If West Ham still find themselves without a new marksman towards the end of January, then perhaps a short-term deal for Pelle wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
Aside from that, however, the Irons must think towards the future, rather than continue to plug gaps with temporary options.
