Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal in action
According to the Daily Star, West Ham United are pressing ahead with a move to try and sign Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal on a free transfer this summer.
The Hammers have endured a disappointing season this term, with question marks over the club’s wingers one of the key talking points heading into the summer transfer window.
Gokhan Tore has barely featured since arriving from Besiktas last summer, Michail Antonio is in a contract stand-off with the club, Andre Ayew is only just starting to feature regularly, whilst Sofiane Feghouli and Robert Snodgrass have yet to really impress since joining from Valencia and Hull respectively.
Another wide man could be added this summer, with the Daily Star reporting that the Hammers are pushing to land Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal on a free transfer.

Ghezzal, 24, starred last season with eight goals and eight assists in Ligue 1, but his numbers have decreased this term with just two goals and two assists to his name amid competition from Mathieu Valbuena, Nabil Fekir, Memphis Depay and Maxwell Cornet.
The Algerian star – an international team-mate of Sofiane Feghouli – is out of contract this summer, meaning that he will be free to leave Lyon and move elsewhere for nothing, with the French side struggling to agree a new deal.

It is though stated that Champions League semi-finalists Monaco are the favourites to sign Ghezzal this summer, meaning West Ham have some work to do if they are to sign the wide man this summer.
Skilful with an eye for goal, Ghezzal is primarily a right-sided winger who loves to cut inside onto his left foot, and with Tore and Antonio potentially heading out of the club, Ghezzal could be a smart, cheap target for the Hammers.
