A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that West Ham are keen on bringing Olivier Giroud to the London Stadium this summer, and are prepared to match any bid that comes in for the Arsenal striker from elsewhere.

The Mirror reports that Giroud’s exit from the Emirates could well be on the cards this summer with the Frenchman recently commenting on the fact that he is not willing to play a peripheral role for the Gunners which may prove a problem with Arsene Wenger targeting the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette.

West Ham appear to be one of the clubs ready to make a move if the opportunity presents itself, but the Mirror reports that there is also interest from clubs in Italy, while Marseille are ready to offer the former Montpellier striker the chance to return to Ligue 1.

However, the Hammers appear to be so determined to land the 30-year-old that they are ready to match any bids that come in for him in the hope that he wishes to remain in the Premier League, according to the Mirror.

If Giroud leaves this summer, he may not go down as one of the most beloved Arsenal strikers of all time, but his record in the top flight is still fairly impressive, with 69 goals coming in 164 top flight games for the Gunners.

He has reached double figures in every season he has played for Arsenal, so Slaven Bilic may feel that he could be the proven goalscorer that the Hammers desperately need after a difficult season where their top goalscorer finished with nine league strikes to his name.
