Bilic had been expecting to begin talks over a new deal with West Ham United over Christmas, according to reports.
A report in The Sun has suggested that the West Ham United hierarchy have decided to put off planned talks regarding a new contract for Slaven Bilic until the end of the season.
The Sun claims that the Hammers had planned to begin discussions with Bilic over Christmas, but appear to have had a rethink following the club’s mixed start to the campaign.

The Sun adds that the Irons board want to wait and see whether the Croatian can turn things around at the London Stadium, and perhaps replicate the success of last season, before they seek to get him tied down to an extension.
The recent signs do certainly suggest that things are beginning to look a lot brighter at West Ham however. Following their 5-1 defeat at home to Arsenal at the start of the month, they have gone on an unbeaten run of three games, and have won their last two.

That run has taken them back up towards a much more respectable position of 13th in the Premier League table and has created some much-needed daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
And if they can continue that run for a while longer, perhaps it would not be the biggest surprise if the Hammers board reconsider their decision, and look to initiate talks much sooner.
