According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United are rivalling Southampton for the signature of Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.
It’s claimed that both West Ham and Southampton are keen to sign a midfielder, and have both considered Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Yet Grujic has now popped up on the radars of both teams, with Liverpool seemingly prepared to let him leave – though the two clubs want him on loan.
Grujic has been out on loan four times since joining Liverpool in 2016; first heading back to Red Star Belgrade, then on to Cardiff City and two spells at Hertha Berlin.
The 24-year-old needs to settle down and play, whilst Liverpool may not want to loan him out again having done it a number of times.
Grujic was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool boss in January 2016, but he has only managed 16 first-team appearances for the club.

Grujic will have aspirations of really kicking on after two strong years with Hertha, and he could provide real athleticism in the West Ham midfield, much like Tomas Soucek.
He was branded ‘very good’ and ‘extraordinary’ by Hertha director Michael Preetz in an interview with Goal in July, which sums up the talent that West Ham could land – if they can tempt Liverpool into a deal.
