West Ham United’s squad have been impressed by what they have seen from David Moyes during the early stages of his tenure.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Andy Carroll received the hairdryer treatment from David Moyes following West Ham’s defeat to Watford at the weekend, but the Hammers squad have been impressed by what they have seen from their new manager.

Moyes’ appointment led to plenty of criticism from the Irons fans who, despite many feeling that it was time for Slaven Bilic to go, felt that Moyes was an underwhelming appointment given that he has not left a job with his reputation enhanced since departing from Everton more than four years ago.

However, it appears that the Scotsman is winning the players round, with the Mirror reporting that his communication and hard work have been warmly received by the squad – who desperately need to turn their form around as they look to get themselves out of trouble in the Premier League.

But perhaps one player would be forgiven for not taking to Moyes as quickly as the rest of the squad appear to have, as it seems that he took exception to one display he saw in the 2-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

The Mirror reports that Moyes was furious with Carroll’s performance and told the forward that he needs to step his game up after he failed to make a positive impact in the clash with the Hornets.

While the fans may need to be convinced about the decision to appoint Moyes still, the fact that the players seem to be happy with him is surely an encouraging sign.

That may make it easier for Moyes to inject some positivity into the squad over the Christmas period as the players will surely be more willing to buy into the ideas he puts forward.
