Report: West Ham planning to sack Slaven Bilic; David Moyes to take over

West Ham United have reportedly decided that Slaven Bilic will be sacked, and David Moyes is set to be handed the job.

According to a sensational report from The Sun, West Ham are planning to sack Slaven Bilic in the next few days, and the Croatian will be replaced by David Moyes.

The Hammers are just one point clear of the bottom three in the Premier League and they suffered their sixth defeat in 11 league games at the weekend as Liverpool left the London Stadium with a 4-1 win.

The Sun reports that the Irons hierarchy have given up on the idea of Bilic being able to turn things around, and they now plan to replace the 49-year-old with Moyes – who is out of work after leaving Sunderland following their relegation from the top flight last term.

The Sun adds that Phil Neville is set to follow the Scotsman through the door and be a part of his coaching staff.

Unfortunately for Bilic’s biggest fans, from the outside there appears to be a rapidly-growing sense of resignation around the club – regardless of whether it is his fault or not – that he is not the right man to save their season. Whether the Hammers fans feel that Moyes is the right man however, remains to be seen if he gets the job.

Since leaving Everton in 2013, Moyes’ record has hardly been impressive. But with the club clearly boasting the potential to do much better than they currently are, and with Moyes clearly needing to prove a point, perhaps it would be foolish to suggest that a change – if it does end up taking place – will not work for West Ham.
